Item, Armor & Inventory Showcase

YEmojis includes an interactive item broadcasting engine that lets players share gear directly in chat with native Adventure hover tooltips.

Supported Showcase Tags

Tag Shortcut Alternative Aliases Description
[item] :item:, [i], [hand] Showcases the item currently held in the main hand.
[offhand] :offhand:, [oh] Showcases the item held in the offhand slot.
[armor] :armor:, [gear] Showcases all 4 equipped armor pieces side-by-side.
[inv] :inv:, [inventory] Displays a badge showing item counts, health, and EXP level.

Main Hand Item Showcase ([item])

When a player types [item] or [hand] in chat, YEmojis replaces the tag with:

  1. The 2D item sprite corresponding to the item type.
  2. The item's formatted display name (including custom colors and italic styling).
  3. A full Minecraft tooltip on hover:
    • Custom item display names and lore.
    • Enchantments and enchantment levels.
    • Potion effects and durations.
    • Armor trim patterns and materials.
    • Item durability and custom model data.

Example Chat Output

<Player> Check out my new weapon: [item]

Renders as:

Player: Check out my new weapon: [Sharpness V Netherite Sword]

Armor Showcase ([armor])

Typing [armor] in chat displays all 4 equipped armor slots simultaneously:

[Helmet] [Chestplate] [Leggings] [Boots]

Each individual piece maintains its own independent hover tooltip. If an armor slot is empty, a configurable empty-armor-text indicator is displayed.

Inventory Showcase ([inv])

Typing [inv] outputs an interactive player summary badge. Hovering over the badge displays:

  • Current player health hearts.
  • Experience level and points.
  • Total number of items stored in the player's inventory.

Configuration & Cooldowns

Showcase settings can be adjusted in plugins/YEmojis/config.yml:

showcase:
  enabled: true
  cooldown-seconds: 3
  empty-hand-text: "<gray>[Empty Hand]</gray>"
  empty-offhand-text: "<gray>[Empty Offhand]</gray>"
  empty-armor-text: "<gray>[No Armor]</gray>"
