Troubleshooting

Use this page as a symptom-based diagnostic checklist. After every change, run /ydm reload and check the console for parsing or registration errors.

The menu does not open

Check the filename, top-level YAML key, type, indentation, command registration, and permission. Confirm that the menu ID matches the filename without .yml.

A button does nothing

Verify the action name, command syntax, target player, and permission. If the action uses an action key, check that the key is spelled identically in the relevant configuration.

A placeholder is empty

Confirm that PlaceholderAPI and the required expansion are installed. Enable debug mode and inspect the resolved value in the console.

A requirement always fails

Check the placeholder value, comparison operator, quoting, and value type.

What to include in a bug report

Include the Dialog Master version, server version, relevant YAML with secrets removed, the exact command used, debug console output, and the expected versus actual behavior.
